The Division 1 & 2 Men's League badminton finals took place on March 3rd in Moyvane, with the top four players competing for the top spot. The unique league structure saw 12 players play each other over 4 rounds, with 9 sets played each night and handicaps applied throughout the league. On finals night, the handicaps cancelled each other out, so all sets started at 0-0.
The top 4 players with the highest points secured a spot in the final. In the final, Tom Burke paired up with Aidan McCarthy took on Kelvin McNally and Donie Enright.
The winners, Aidan McCarthy and Tom Burke, won in a thrilling five-set match against Kelvin McNally and Donnie Enright. The sets were closely contested, with scores of 21-20, 18-21, 21-17, 20-21, and 21-16.
The best-of-five sets format for the final proved to have a great intensity.
About 15 people showed up in Moyvane to watch the final, and it was a great atmosphere.
